Here are several 2026 Fourth of July events happening across Genesee County, the Great Lakes Bay Region, Shiawassee County, Livingston County, Lapeer County, Oakland County, and nearby Mid-Michigan communities.
Genesee County Fourth of July Events
Downtown Flint will host the FIM Holiday Celebration & Flint Water Festival: America 250 Experience on Saturday, July 4. This free event runs from 5:00 to 10:30 PM at the Downtown Flat Lot and includes fireworks, a free concert, carnival, food trucks, splash park, pickleball, a Captain America screening, and the Ultimate Beyoncé Tribute.
Fenton's Freedom Festival is another favorite Mid-Michigan tradition. The celebration includes the Firecracker Run, parade, pancake breakfast, rubber ducky regatta, kids activities, craft show, food vendors, and fireworks over Silver Lake Park.
Clio is celebrating on Friday, July 3 with Fireworks & Family Fun Day, including live music, food trucks, games, activities, and fireworks. Swartz Creek is also hosting a July 4 Fireworks Extravaganza with food, drinks, yard games, and fireworks.
For a more traditional family outing, Crossroads Village is hosting an Independence Day Celebration with an ice cream social and a reading of the Declaration of Independence.
Great Lakes Bay & Saginaw Area Celebrations
Bay City's Fireworks Festival is one of the largest holiday celebrations in the region, featuring multiple nights of fireworks at 10:12 PM, carnival rides, vendors, live entertainment, and family fun along the riverfront.
Midland's Fourth of July Celebration includes historical programming, music, food trucks, a community Declaration of Independence reading and signing, live music downtown, and fireworks around 10:06 PM.
Frankenmuth will celebrate on Friday, July 3 at Heritage Park with live entertainment, food vendors, marketplace activities, family-friendly fun, music, and fireworks around 10 PM.
Chesaning's Fireworks in the Park takes place Thursday, July 2 at Showboat Park. Gates open at 4 PM, food vendors will be available, and fireworks begin at dusk.
In Saginaw, the Fourth of July includes a 10 AM flag raising at Andersen and Court Street Bridge, with fireworks at Ojibway Island around 10 PM.
Shiawassee County Fourth of July Fun
Corunna's 4th of July Celebration at Hugh McCurdy Park offers a full day of community activities, including a Firecracker 5K, craft show, car show, belt sander drag race, parade, and family-friendly fun.
Livingston County Celebrations
Howell is hosting the Livingston County 250th Celebration at Howell High School, featuring fireworks, a light show, and music. Parking opens at 7:30 PM, and the show begins at 10 PM.
Brighton and Whitmore Lake both have July 4 parades listed at 10 AM on Main Street, offering a classic small-town way to start the holiday.
Fowlerville's parade and fireworks will take place on Sunday, July 5. The parade is listed for 7 PM, with fireworks at Fowlerville Community Park at dusk.
Oakland County Fireworks Options
For those closer to Oakland County, several communities have fireworks and Independence Day events listed, including Clawson, Huntington Woods, Lake Orion, Sylvan Lake, Waterford/Loon Lake, and Waterford/Maceday-Lotus Lakes.
Bonus Lapeer County Event
Lapeer's annual fireworks are scheduled for Saturday, July 11, with the show beginning at 10 PM at Rolland-Warner Middle School. This is a great option for anyone who wants to enjoy one more summer fireworks night after the holiday weekend.
