Equal Housing Opportunity

The Moen Group is committed to compliance with all federal, state, and local fair housing laws. We do not discriminate against any person because of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, familial status, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, age, or any other class protected under federal, state, or local law.

Federal Fair Housing Act

The Federal Fair Housing Act (42 U.S.C. §§ 3601–3619), originally enacted as Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968 and amended in 1988, prohibits discrimination in the sale, rental, and financing of housing based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, familial status, and disability. The Moen Group strictly adheres to all provisions of this law in every aspect of our business, from property listings and marketing materials to client interactions and transaction negotiations.

Michigan's Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act

Michigan's Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act (MCL 37.2101 et seq.) provides additional protections beyond the federal Fair Housing Act. This state law prohibits discrimination in real property transactions based on religion, race, color, national origin, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, height, weight, familial status, or marital status. The Moen Group is fully committed to compliance with the Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act and all Michigan fair housing regulations.

Our Commitment in Practice

The Moen Group's commitment to fair housing is not limited to legal compliance β€” it is a core value that guides how we serve every client. Our commitment includes:

  • Equal treatment: All clients and prospective clients receive the same professional service, regardless of any protected characteristic.
  • Non-discriminatory marketing: Our property listings, advertisements, and communications are designed to appeal to all qualified buyers and tenants, consistent with fair housing requirements.
  • Inclusive language: We use language that is welcoming and inclusive, avoiding any words or phrases that could be interpreted as preferring or excluding any group of people.
  • Accessible processes: We strive to make our services accessible to all individuals, including those with disabilities, and will provide reasonable accommodations upon request.
  • Staff training: All agents and staff receive education on fair housing laws, implicit bias awareness, and inclusive business practices.
